Official Visit # 6 Bethel #44 and #54

It was time to take a trip to da region.  Joe and I went on Friday night to attend the Memorial for Mary Jo's Mother.  It was a very nice service and the girls did the cross.  It was a beautiful sight.

Saturday came really early with our phones ringing that Art Kessler, PAGG had passed away.  Our hearts go out to the family and all of us who knew him.  We have lost a great man.  He will be greatly missed!

We headed to Bethel #54 to have the OV.  We were greated with hugs and food.  What a better combination.  The lunch before the OV was great!!  Thanks to all of you who pitched in and made it great.

Susan presented me with a coursage and Joe a boutineere.  That was such a nice surprise.  I later found out that she had made them.  They were beautuful!!  Thank You!!

The Official Visit was wonderful.  Madison McKendry presided as Honored Queen and did a beautiful job.  We also did our first Baby Dedication.  It was my pleasure and Honor to dedicate Danielle Howard, Daughter of Sara Dykhuis Howard and Grand Daughter of Mary Jo Dykhuis, PGG.

The Majority ceremony was done for Miss Leslie Bailey.  I can't believe she is old enough.   It was a beautiful ceremony.  Leslie had lots of family and friends present to spend with her on this special day.  Congratulations Miss Leslie!!

The Grand Guardian Council gave out 4 perfect ritual awards.  Great job Ladies.  Keep up the good work!!  Thank you to the Grand officers who attended.  It is always great to see you on the back row.  I also want to thank Josh (Kathy and Richards son) for attending.  I hope you enjoyed your first Job's Meeting.  I was happy to see so many people on the sidelines.

Thank you to Bethel #44 and #54 for our Folders, gifts and for my flowers.  They still look beautiful!!  We enjoyed cake after the OV along with fellowship.

We headed out to go to dinner at Joe's favorite place "The Wheel".  It was good and we enjoyed lots of food, fellowship and fun.  After dinner we attended a Haloween dance  at one of the DeMolay Chapters in Griffith.  It was a church made into a Lodge hall.  The girls had a really good time.

I also want to thank Susan and Madison for my surprise.  I'm not telling what it is yet.  Maybe I will debeaut it at Cornation Ball.

We enjoyed our time up in da region.  You always know how to show us a great time.  Thank you to the Coslet Bed and Breakfast for their hospitaility, food and fun!!

Go to Church Sunday

Go to Church Sunday is always a special day for Job's Daughters and those who live at the Masonic Home.

I know a few special guests were especially glad to see the Job's Daughters.  Mr. Ken Bastin, PAGG and PASG was very happy to see us that morning.  It was also his Birthday.  Happy Birthday Ken.  We hope you enjoyed your day.

It was nice to see the Misses up on stage helping with both of the Church services.  Each of you did very well.  Joe and I are very proud of each of you!!  The cross in both services was Beautiful!!

After church we enjoyed the annual Grand Bethel Soups Cook off.  I was honored to be one of the 3 judges.  It was a hard job but someone had to do it!!  LOL   Thanks to Carolyn and Mahaley for their assistance as well.  We had lots of fun sampling each entry.

Bethel #34 took away all the big titles for the day.   We enjoyed buying items from the bazaar(the lime green goo is still in my refrigerator).  I think fun was had by all.  Thank you to all those who attended.

Official Visit #5 at Bethel #5

It was an early morning for Joe and I.  We were  headed to Clinton for the OV of Bethel #5.

It was a very quick OV.  We were in and out of there in less than an  hour.  Thank you to Carolyn, Miss Indiana for proteming as Honored Queen.  You did a beautiful job and I know the girls greatly appreciated you stepping in at the last moment.  Thank you to those Grand Officers who were in attendance.

Joe and I were honored to receive our first Member of Honors.  That meant alot to both of us and we Thank Bethel #5 for that Honor.  Thank you for our folders and gifts.

After the OV we enjoyed ice cream from the Litle Itally where Bethel #5 dips Ice Cream for about 4 days.  I even tried a new flavor.  It was ok, but I went for the Chocolate!!   (can't go wrong with chocolate....).

All I have to say is 70 - Bad and Rice - hot.  If you want to know what that means, ask Joe.

Thank you to all the Grand Officers who attended.  It is greatly appreciated!!  I know we gave out a couple of Ritual Awards.  Keep up the good work girls!!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner after the OV.  Thank you for my folder and for my gifts.  They are greatly appreciated.

Job A Rama 2011

Well, it is hard to believe that JAR is already over.  I want to Thank Jamie and Tara for a wonderful weekend I'm sure we will all remember.  It was perfect!!  Well, except for the rain but that didn't stop us!!   Friday night it was nice to see everyone coming in and enjoying themselves.

Saturday we assembled for a quick JAR meeting the we headed to a wonderful breakfast.  After that the day was filled with crafts, kick ball, hikes and I'm sure some sleeping.  I want to say Congratulations to the Grand Bethel Girls for winning the kickball game between them and the Grand Guardian Council.  A BIG Thank You to those of the GGC who "agreed" to play and were good sports about it.  We were up 3 - 0 at one point.  It only got worse from there.  I applaud you for trying GGC members!!

We had about 4 crafts that each person could make.  I loved having choices!!  I think everyone enjoyed that time to do a craft and be creative.

Lunch was a cookout and was wonderful.  It was raining off and on all day but we made the best of it!!  Dinner was served family style.  I really want to thank those who were the "hoppers" for each table.  It meant alot to me for the girls to experience a "Family" dinner.  Not everyone has that opportunity these days.  Always remember we are all FAMILY!!

Our Misses honored the Jobie to Bee's before the skits.  The received a tiara and a sash made by Carolyn our Miss Indiana.  They were so cute standing up there.  I think there were about 20 of them.  Congratulations Bee's.  Job's Daughters has a great future ahead of us!!

Our skits were moved from the ampitheature to the dinning hall : ( .  This made me sad but it was ok.  Before our skits started it was time to give away the Kindle.  The 5 lucky winners were up front and were given the challenge of blowing a bubble.  I have to say I don't know that I've ever seen my Mother blow a bubble but she gave it her best shot.  Way to go Mom!!  The kindle was given away to the best bubble maker.  I have to say I don't remember who she was but I'm sure she is enjoying her new kindle!!  Each Bethel or group was able to present their skit or whatever.  I enjoyed this part!!  You girls are so talented and really funny.  Before we were done I had the pleasure of giving away 2 Ipods.  Each Daughter was given a ticket when the entered.  We drew from those tickets.  I know one was one by Natalie of #108.  I don't remember who the other one went to.  I hope you are enjoying your new Ipod!!  After skits we enjoyed free pizza and soda for everyone in camp.

Sunday brought more rain but that was ok.  We enjoyed breakfast and started packing before breakfast.  We then went to our Church service that was held inside of Carr.  It was a nice service.  Thank you to Jamie, Madison, Mahaley and Markanda for assisting.  We did not preform the cross but the girls all gathered up front and sang Near My God to Thee.  It was very moving.  I was in tears ( I know, nothing new...).  Thank you to all those who came and enjoyed the weekend with us.  I hope you enjoyed yourselves, made some new friends and rekindled some old ones.

Masonic Home Day September 11, 2011 - 10th anniversary of 9/11

Masonic Home Day...what can I say.  It is always a great time for those who attend.  The wheather played nice and wasn't bad.  The rain even held off until the parade was over.  Even though the girls kept telling me it was going to rain.

It was funny first thing in the morning to see many ladies wearing lime green shirts that weren't GO's or the one of the Misses.  Well turns out, the Rainbow Worthy Grand Advisor choose limegreen shirts for her year.  It almost looks like we planned it that way.  I was honored to be in such good company.

We assembled to set up and people started to gather.  We had a great turn out for Job's Daughters.  Brittany intorduced herself, the Misses and Joe and I before the girls did the cross.  What a beautiful picture that was!!  David P gave the Cross talk for us.  Thank you David!  Joe and I greatly appreciate you doing this for us.

After that we all headed back to the tent.  We had lots of stuff going on.  We had 2 drawings for Vera Bradley purses.  One for prospective members and one for members.  We had Snoopy Plink o with prizes as well.  The table was filled with promotion items too.  The Grand Bethel table had cotton candy, face painting and paint for your  hair.  This was a propular table!!  Leslie did a great job with the cotton candy machine!  All the face paintings I saw looked great!!  Great job ladies.

After a great lunch thanks to the Franklin DeMolay.  I even saw Sir Fluffy hat cooking hamburgers.  We headed for the parade and we were about 12th in line.  The girls and adults waited for the parade to start under the shelter house.  We had  fun and took lots of picutres.   All of a sudden the wind picked up and the sky looked dark.  This is when the girls tried to convience me it was going to rain.   I kept telling them no....in reality, I new it was going to at some point!!  We walked behind the car carring Carolyn, Madison and Brittany.  We had a wonderful time.  Thank you to those Grand Officers, Adults and Daughters who stayed around to join us!  It was greatly appreciated!!

Official Visits # 2 and #3

September 10, 2011 we had our first official visit for the day at Bethel #121.  The girls did a good job.  We gave out 1 perfect ritual award.  Great Job!!  The girls took Joe and I on a cruise.  It was fun to be a part of the ceremony.  I really enjoyed it.

Now, lesson #1 - when your Tom Tom tells you to go east when you know the Bethel is west, listen to your gut.  Don't listen to your Tom Tom!!  I went 40 miles out of my way heading to #121.  I left my house at 7:15 am and finally made it to #121 at about 9:50 am.  I'm apologize for being late!!  I kept telling Markanda, we are gong the wrong way.....  We made is there safely so I guess that is all that matters!!

The 2nd one was at #107 with #86 and #99.  Before the OV we had the pleasure of giving a HIKE check to an 8 year old boy.  He and his family were overwehelmed!!  It was great to part of something so special!!  Thank you Cindi G for getting this together.  Great job ladies.  We gave out 8 perfect ritual awards.  They did the Robe Ceremony.  Everyone did a wonderful job!  Keep up the good work.

Thank you to all the girls who protemd, it is greatly appreciated!!  Thank all the Bethels for my folders, gas cards and traveling money.

It was nice to see all the past grands  and to have the WoodStock gang on the front row.  We sure hope Madison feels better so she can join us tomorrow for Masonic Home Day.  Hope to see all of you there.  Don't forget the Cross will be done at 11:00 am.

Job's Daughter Carnival and more

WOW, what can I say.  Another wondreful weekend in our Job's world!!  We had our first Job's Daughter's Carnival at Englewood Lodge with their annual car show and Lodge picnic.  I think things went very well and everyone had lots of fun!!

The food was great and our carnival area was very busy with girls and families.  Thank you too all the Grand Officers who donated items, were there and/or helped out with the games.  Thank you to the spouses for pitching in as well.  It is all greatly appreciated!!  I know the girls had fun (and I think a few adults did too!!)

I think the dunk tank was a big hit!!  We had many people volunteer to get in the dunk tank.  My hat goes off to you......

It was great to see everyone having fun and enjoying each other and enjoying the fellowship!!  We had about 5 prospective members.  They were given a scavenger hunt page to fill out with the help of all of the Job's people.  If they got it all filled out they got a gift.  Great job to all those who got theirs done and got their gift.

We gave Englewood Lodge a big Thank You sign signed by those who attended.  They were really touched by that and have already invited us back next year!!

The balloon release was a sight to behold.  To see all those purple balloons flying out of site and onto the roof tops of the houses was great!  Hopefully we will get some emails or guestbook posts of where they were found.

I can't say THANK YOU enough to Tiffany.  She worked very hard at getting this all put together for us.  Her hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated!!!

For those of you who were there while things went wacky with my car, I'm home safe and sound.  A few bumps along the way getting here but at least I was among friends and was very safe!!  Thank you to Barry from Englewood Lodge and the many guys who tried to help in anyway.  I greatly appreciate their efforts!!

1st Official Visit

Well our first Official Visit has come and gone.  What a wonderful day!!  I am so proud of Bethel #34 and Bethel #108.  I can't thank you enough for hosting the first OV of our year.  The two Bethels worked very well together and have set the bar very high for the rest of the OV's.  The decorations were just beautiful!

The Grand Guardian Council this year is giving out Perfect Ritual Awards for opening (or the friendship ceremony if there were two girls in a station).  I was too busy listening to all the names being called that I forgot to count but I think the number was 7 in total.  What a wonderful job ladies!!  Keep up the good work.

Thank you to the 15 Grand Officers who were there.  It is always nice to see that back row filled.  I hope to see you at many activities this year!!  Don't forget to wear your Grand Officer shirts for the different functions.

Thank you to both Bethels for my folders and gifts.  I would also like to thank everyone for my Emmy.  I didn't even know I had been nominated.

Hope to see everyone at the  Carnival on August 27, 2011 at Englewood Lodge from 1 - 5 pm.

Supreme Session 2011 - Day 5

I found it hard to believe that it was time to get up and head to our business meeting.  Where did the night go??

We assembled at 8:00 am for the Supreme Guardian Council meeting once again.  It was time to start ritual revisions and to hold election of officers.  Elections were started at 9:00 am.  Barbara Cooper from IL was elected as Supreme Marshal and Mike Allen from WI was elected as Supreme Outer Guard.  If you were at pageant in April you might remember Mike.  He was the tall gentlemen with the blue tennis shoes on with his tux!!  Best wishes as they start their journey.  Ashley Underwood from MO was elected as Supreme Trustee along with Janine Coley from WI.

We finally finished the ritual and music ritual revisions.  A great big Thank You to all those who were there to vote.  It was great to see all the Indiana People!!

Tonight was the Supreme Bethel Installation.  I had never seen one done so it was very interesting.    I love the way the Supreme Bethel Honored Queen was caped and crowned while keeling at the altar and Supreme Bethel Princess were caped and crowned while kneeling in the east .  That was really neat!

One other very interesting fact is that last night at the pageant all the daughters who had crowns on were asked to remove them.  It is Missouri courtesy to remove your crown when a new girl is getting crowned.  It thought that was very interesting.

This is my first Supreme Session.  It has been very interesting and an experience I will never forget.  Thank you to all those who have answered my questions or given me a Hug just because.  It has greatly appreciated!!  Well it is off to find ice cream!!

Supreme Session 2011 - Day 4

Good Morning St. Louis!!  This morning got us up really early.  Supreme Bethel started at 7:30 AM.  I was there at about 7:00 am to save tables for Indiana.  The Supreme Bethel opened as a normal Bethel would.  It was very interesting.  The adults needed to leave before names were drawn so I hope to report later on the results.

Our deliberations began once again.  This is a very difficult task we have ahead of us.  This will impact the Order for at least 15 years to come.  That is when the next ritual revisions will take place.  Let me assure you, the adults did not take this lightly.  Much discussion was had regarding different items.

I did read via text that Shelby C was selected as Supreme 5th messenger, Jamie M was selected as Representative to Florida and Gensis J was selected Representative to Piaui, Brazil.  Congratulations ladies!!

We took a short lunch break then it was back to work on ritual revisions.

Tonight was the Miss International Pageant.   Miss Indiana Carolyn Winebar was named  2nd Runner up.       We are very proud of you.

Indiana met at Denny's for the Indiana gathering.  Last count I heard there were 53 people in attendance.  What a great crowd.  When Carolyn arrived we all applauded.  We are very proud of our Miss Indiana!!

After a very long day it was time to head back to the hotel.  Sleep is needed so we can continue tomorrow with ritual revisions.

From St. Louis,

Well the day of meeting has begun....  Joe and I started our day with a breakfast with our counterparts from other states and the Vice Supreme Guardian and Vice Associate Supreme Guardian.  It was nice meeting other Grand Guardians and getting the opportunity to talk about different ideas from around the state and the world.

This morning was Jobie Congress.  The girls were asked to speak about what they liked and didn't like regarding the ritual revisions.  A report was sent to the Supreme Guardian Council via the Supreme Bethel Honored Queen and Miss International.

It was off to the to the business meeting.  Our task this year was ritual revision.  We began our deliberations and had much discussion on how it should be or not be.  Lets just say it has been very eye opening.  I have learned alot.  Thanks to Cindi G for helping me out when I didn't understand something.

It was now time for lunch.  Joe and the other men attended the Men of Job Luncheon.  Heather and I went to a place called Caleco's.  It came highly recommended.  We walked a few blocks but it wasn't bad.

We resumed our deliberations  for the ritual.  We finally reached the end of the time alloted to get things done and head for the Formal Opening dinner.  A wonderful dinner was shared by all who attended.

After dinner was the formal opening.  All the Grand Guardians and Associate Grand Guardians from 2010 - 2011 and 2011 - 2012 were paraded around the room,   This was an awesome experience.

After a long day it was finally time to head to bed.  Early morning.....

Supreme Session 2011 - Day 2

Day 2 has brought many fun activities.  We first wet downstairs to greet our Messenger Team before they compete.  Good Luck Carolyn, Libbie, Genesis, Carolyn and Taryn!!

We finally ate lunch then headed to our next stop.  We enjoyed a tour of the Anheuser Busch Plant  brewery.  It was a very interesting tour.  One place in our visit was about 50 degrees and another about 100.  It was really really hot!!!  It was one of the prettiest places in the building.  The horses were one of my favorite parts.  They are so big and beautiful!!

We did attend the Town Hall meeting with the Board of Trustees.  It was a great time just to ask questions about different things like CAV.  They did say that a YPP for the Daughters will be presented sometime soon.  It will be done  "Daughter Style".   Doc Morgan announced that they are working on a new line of jewelry (Bling was promised)!!

We had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.  The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful!!  The food was good too!!

Back to the hotel to turn in.  Big day starting tomorrow.

Wow!! Rainbow Assembly.....

Hello Indiana.  We have had our last evening SOI at Munice on Wednesday July 13, 2011.  Thank you to all those who attend.  It was great to see people I had not seen in a while.  Once again "Job" was in the room.  I happened to find him before the meeing started.  I think many adults saw him but it's only for the daughters.  We are now preparing for our All day SOI tomorrow (July 16, 2011 at Lynhurst).  Please plan to join us.  Lunch will be served for $5.00 per person by Grand Bethel.

Joe, Brittany, Carolyn and I had the please of attending the opening ceremony for Rainbow Assembly last night and all I can say is WOW.  Their opening drill took 20 - 30 minutes.  It was awesome!!  They walked that room doing many different drills!!  I got lost a few times just watching...LOL  All I can say is that if you ever  have the chance to attend opening it would be a great treat!!!  It was nice to see Terri C and Cindi G.

Don't forget that many of us will be leaving for Supreme starting July 21, 2011.  Joe, Tami, Heather and I will be leaving on Sunday July 24th.  I am looking forward to attending as I have never been to one.  If you are going don't forget our Indiana get together on Thursday after the Pageant.  More details will be available once we get there.  Carolyn, good luck at Pageant.  I know you will represent Indiana well.  Have fun and enjoy the journey!  Lots of Love and many Prayers!!

What a wonderful turnout we have been having and last night at New Albany was no different.  Thank you to all the Daughters and Adults who came out.  If you have further questions or comments please feel free to contact me.

The Grand Bethel Honored Queen's travel contest is to "Find Job".  It was great to see all the girls dash to get him once they found him.  Remember he is only about 2 inches tall and in that big room he was hard to find.  Great job ladies!!  Don't forget, it's only get harder to find him.

We have one more evening SOI at Muncie on Wednesday July 13 then our all day School of Instruction on July 16, 2011 at Lynhurt Lodge.  Start time is 9:30.  Dress is jeans and capris (please not shorts).  Why not wear your Job's shirts too!  Don't forget Grand Bethel will be serving lunch for $5.00 per person.

A special shout out to Mrs. Patty Doyle who was celebrating her "39"th birthday with us.  Special thanks to Amanda S and Markanda B who went with Joe, Tami and I.  I think we had a wonderful drive down and back home.
